Additionally, (v) it should be noted that some administrative and financial competences regarding CIDP’s activity are performed by ICJP, its mainhost institution.

José Manuel Sérvulo Correia

President of the Scientific Council

Professor Sérvulo was awarded his degree from the Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon in 1959. In 1968 he concluded the Complementary Course in Economic Political Sciences (equivalent to a master’s degree), at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. He received his PhD in Law from the University of Lisbon in 1987 and was appointed Full Professor in 2006. He joined the Bar Association in 1962.

Carlos Blanco de Morais

Scientific Coordinator

Carlos Blanco de Morais holds a PhD from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon where he is Full Professor of Public Law and Head of Public Law Department. He is also first-consultant in Public Law to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. He is the Scientific Cooordinator of the Centre of Research in Public Law (CIDP).

Fernando Loureiro Bastos

Coordinator of the International and European Law Research Group

Fernando Loureiro Bastos is Assistant Professor of Law at the Instituto de Ciências Jurídico-Políticas (ICJP) of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. He has specialized in International Law, European Law and Constitutional Law.

Miguel Nogueira de Brito

Coordinator of Constitutional Law & Political Science Research Group

He’s a lecturer at the University of Lisbon School of Law. Miguel Nogueira de Brito was also a law clerk in the Portuguese Constitutional Court, from 2011 to 2007 and a member of the Conselho Superior dos Tribunais Administrativos e Fiscais, from 1991 to 1996.

Miguel Raimundo

Coordinator of the Administrative Law Research Group

Miguel Assis Raimundo is Assistant Professor of Law at the Instituto de Ciências Jurídico-Políticas (ICJP) of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, where he has done all his academic formation and completed his PhD with a thesis on Public Procurement. An expert in this area of Administrative Law, his other research interests lie in the theme of the functioning of administrative courts, public bodies’ liability and more recently, religious freedom.

David Duarte

Coordinator of the Legal Theory Research Group

David Duarte is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon where he was awarded his Doctorate and currently teaches Administrative Law and Fundamental Rights. In terms of research activity, his interests are in the fields of the theory of administrative procedure law, theory of norms, legal linguistics and general theory of fundamental rights.

Luís Pereira Coutinho

Deputy Coordinator of the Constitutional Law & Political Science Research Group

Luís Pereira Coutinho has completed his doctorate in Law at the Instituto de Ciências Jurídico-Políticas (ICJP) of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon where he is Assistant Professor and a Researcher. Apart from his academic functions, he is a lawyer. He has devoted a lot of his research to the topics of human rights and fundamental rights, participating in many collective works and in several conferences on the themes both in Portugal and in Germany. His research interests focus above all in the moral authority of the Constitution in the relation between the Constitution and Sovereignty, in constitutional revision and in various themes in political thought, international relations theory and the philosophy of law.

Tiago Fidalgo de Freitas

Executive Coordinator

Tiago Fidalgo de Freitas is a Guest lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and a Ph.D. researcher at the European University Institute (Florence, Italy). His research interests encompass constitutional law and politics, fundamental rights adjudication, and national and global administrative law.

Alexandra Leitão

Secretary-General

Alexandra Leitão is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon where she graduated and read for her PhD at the Instituto de Ciências Jurídico-Políticas. She is an expert in Administrative Law, and its relationship with other areas of Public Law, namely with Urban Law. Apart from her academic activity, she is the Main Consultant of the Centro Jurídico da Presidência do Conselho de Ministros (CEJUR) and member of the Conselho Superior da Magistratura, elected by the Parliament. Along with her extensive background as a teacher in various areas of Law, Alexandra Leitão is a regular participant in the courses and seminars devoted to the various areas of administrative law.
